We're building a companion app & website for readers. This email has found you because you signed up to our waiting list or joined our beta itself. We occasionally send out updates on the progress we're making, but if you don't want to receive them, you can unsubscribe at the bottom.
With that said, we want to welcome all of the new readers who have joined us in last couple of months. We're thrilled to have you here and are humbled by the feedback & support you've given us so far!
Our last email update was all the way back in November and we've been busy since then, so let's dip straight into some of the things we've been up to.
The New Bits
New Year, New Look
The first thing to note is the changes we've made to our look and feel. We recently covered some highlights in a blog post, plus we snuck in a sneak peek of an upcoming release featuring reviews, so head over there to see more.
Hidden profiles & collections
You now have the choice to hide an individual collection as well as your whole profile, which means they won't show up on public areas of the site. Your friends can still see them if you choose to send them the link. Pretty simple.
Quicker load times
Most pages of the site should now load quicker. We're not done yet though – this is a first step towards fixing slow loading for people that have very large libraries. You will not be left behind!
Edit your read date
This is old news, but it's hidden away so you might not have noticed: you can edit the read date of your books.
Looking ahead
Reviews
The next big piece we expect to release is book reviews, and we're excited to get it into your hands! Until then we'll keep making smaller changes, speed increases & fixes, including improvements for the missing book problem with the Goodreads importer.
Search results
Having trouble finding a book in search? You're not the only one. We're aware of the issue but a fix is a way off yet, sorry. If you can't find a book please email us and we'll do what we can to get it into readng!
Support
Lastly, plenty of you have asked how you can support us. We have some ideas about how to make readng sustainable in the long term and we're going to share more on that soon, but for now the best way to support us is to tell your friends about us, and keep sending in your thoughtful feedback ♥️
